It was more luck than judgement that first brought us into contact with Vision of Crete. A poster, similar to thousands you see in Crete, pointing to a site we had long admired. We were open minded as to what we wanted, new build, renovation or something else. So we paid VOC a visit. We met Christos and his interpreter Nick (for whom VOC had recently built a house). They took us to see a renovation project in the village of Xerosterni which we liked and then another in nearby Kampia, which we loved.

It was quite a wreck but we decided to buy it solely because, even at that early stage, we knew we could work with VOC. Buying the house could not have been easier.

On a second visit to the house we met Fotini (Christos' right hand woman) who was full of good ideas, both practical and aesthetic. A brilliant architect/civil engineer was hired and we were on our way.

Christos is so incredibly enthusiastic about our project, sourcing each beam and every piece of stone with pride and passion. Fotini has assisted us in our choice of fittings, advised us of electrical and plumbing practicalities and generally been helpful and patient.

We haven't had much to do with the workforce but it is clear, from the work we can see so far, that they are very skilled craftsmen. The stonework and woodwork are just beautiful

It has been an absolute pleasure working with VOC, not only because Christos and Fotini are really great people, but also because of their architectural knowledge and their ethos for renovating old houses to retain their integrity and yet be comfortable for modern living. Communication is excellent Fotini keeps us informed with emails and photographs. So far we have been delighted with everything that has been done in our house.

Christos and Fotini make us feel that ours is the ONLY project they have (though it is not) and grant us undivided attention for the limited periods we can be in Crete. And what is more, we have eaten some of the most delicious food weve ever tasted in their company (Christos knows all the best places to eat!)

Our project is not yet complete but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend VOC for a house renovation. It would have been difficult to find anyone to do it better.

We feel both pride and satisfaction when we tell people that our house was built by Vision of Crete. In the area, Christos Daskalogiannis (VOC owner) is a very well known and respected man, with a solid family background and liked by everyone.

We were fortunate to find our land with Christos within two days and we haven’t looked back. Our legal business was completed smoothly and thoroughly. From plans to completion took only twelve months as was promised.

We knew exactly what we wanted inside, we’d already sketched plans and needed someone to make it happen. Christos was that person with his Greek influence. The house was built by, we feel, the best local tradesmen and we know it is safe, solid and excellent quality. Nothing was too much trouble throughout the build.

If we had our time again, we would definitely use Christos at Vision of Crete as his honesty and integrity together with his eye for design and a superb team working with him gave us the security and confidence to build a house in a foreign country.

We feel, not only has he built our house (which we love) we’ve also built a lifelong friendship and we wish him all the very best for continued success with Vision.
